DESCRIPTION: Creative Informatics is physically located in the Institute of Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh in a recently completed wing of the Bayes Centre. We can offer space in our offices, based in the heart of Edinburgh, and access to our fabrication (3D printing, laser scanning, etc) resources and, if appropriate, to the beautiful event and exhibition space, Inspace. In addition to support from the Creative Informatics team you will also have opportunity to connect and work with CI and Design Informatics researchers, design informatics students (a lovely creative group) and an extensive network of SMEs/entrepreneurs in the creative industries, including those working on new design/creative-led cryptocurrency projects. We can also introduce you to a wide network of creative and cultural organisations and their datasets, if appropriate. Accommodation and meals will be supported by the Creative Informatics programme in discussion with the successful 'Pilgrim'.

RESIDENCY PROJECT: We welcome residency projects that relate to positively disrupting the creative industries, in areas such as new forms of value and/or value constellations, new ways to derive value from and increase engagement with data (including digital archives), new creative business models and/or new models to collaborate/exchange. For example we are currently developing work exploring using blockchain technologies for writing, tracking, sharing community funding applications together; and 'tickets as currency' - rethinking the relationship between performance arts and audiences beyond the traditional ticket. We are keen to host projects that has potential to make a meaningful difference to the well-being, economic sustainability, and growth potential of the community of local SMEs and Entrepreneurs we work with.
